Laura Nehring, 92, State Center, died Saturday, May 22 at the State Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25 at Trinity Lutheran Church in State Center with Pastor Mike Maddick officiating. Burial followed at Hillside cemetery in State Center.

Laura L Fricke Nehring, daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth Wolken Fricke, was born June 17, 1911 in Marshall county. She attended country school and St John's Parochial School in Clemons. She loved gardening, quilting and handwork and seeing grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Laura married Ernest Nehring in 1932. They lived in the Colo area and later farmed around State Center.

She is survived by one daughter, Minnie (George) Cramer, Alden, Iowa; and three sons, Bruce Nehring, Portland, Oregon, Marion (Mary Jane) Nehring, Maxwell, Iowa, and Jerry Nehring. Also surviving are two sisters, Marie Eggers and Inez Badger; eight grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest, her parents, infant daughter, grandson, six brothers and four sisters.
