Age 90 of St. Paul. Passed away Sept. 14, 2017. Roland was a WWII Army Veteran. Roland was the third child born of the 7 Koester Children. He was home born and grew up on the farm. He was one of Fathers helpers until 1940 when our Father died. He became a very important family member. The older brothers continued in High school and much of the farm chores was left for Roland to complete before attending 8th grade country school. He completed High School and was drafted in the army. After the Army he worked the farm and cared for his Mother and younger sisters for 7 years. He relocated his Mother and went to Minneapolis for employment. Most of this career was with Univac in the receiving and shipping Dept. When retired he did Voluntary work for many years.
