Born July 29, 1909 in Manito, Illinois the daughter of August & Erma Marie Leers DeSutter, Ervina married Melvin Kitchell on April 1, 1935 in Kahoka, Missouri; he preceded her in death in July of 1948
She later married James Earl McPhail on January 20, 1968 in Pekin, Illinois; he preceded her in death on May 4, 1976
Mrs. McPhail was a Homemaker and also had served as a Caregiver for several area families.
She attended rural Manito Schools.
Mrs. McPhail was a member of the Timewell Christian Church where she always enjoyed teaching Sunday school to the children and had more recently attended the Versailles Christian Church.
She enjoyed gardening and giving away the produce to her family and friends.
Mrs. McPhail also loved working in her yard and was especially proud of receiving the Yard of the Month Award from Brown County Proud.
In memory of her husband Melvin, Ervina donated the land for the McPhail Baseball Field in Timewell.
She was preceded in death by her parents

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the Timewell Christian Church; Rev. Scott Sherwood officiating.
Burial in Mound Cemetery, Timewell, Illinois.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 Friday evening at Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling.
Friends may also call one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church.
