Martin Knott, 75 years old, retired farmer, died at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon [August 24, 1930] at the family home at Browns Valley of infirmities incident to advanced age. Mr. Knott had lived in the county virtually all of his life. Surviving are four sons, James, Proctor, H.O. Knott, of Browns Valley, and Henry of West Louisville; also four daughters, Mrs. G.R. Barr, Livermore; Mrs. Joe Wilberding, Norwood, OH; Sister Mary Rosalia, of the Ursuline nuns, Mt. St. Joseph; Mrs. Sherman Howard, Browns Valley; forty-three grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Monday morning from St. Anthony's Catholic church, with the pastor, the Rev. Joseph Odendahl, offering requiem high Mass. Burial was in the church cemetery. The following served as pallbearers: T.Z. Worthington, A.Z. Thompson, John Greer, John Trunnell, James Brown and C.B. Rouse.
