New Holstein: John Puetz, 70 passed away here at 5:45 a.m. this morning, after a lingering illness. He was born in Charlesburg September 16, 1868, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Puetz. On October 28, 1894, he was united in marriage with Anna Achter.

He was originally a carpenter, and then lived on a farm now owned by his brother, Joseph. In 1902 he moved to Edson, Wis., where he purchased a farm. He remained there until 1915, and then moved back to Charlesburg. He worked at the Lauson Manufacturing company for several years before moving to New Holstein in 1925. He worked with Lausons until 1930.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. John Reinl, New Holstein; two grandchildren, Betty Melva Reinl, New Holstein, and Mrs. Alvin Emerich, Fond du Lac; one brother, Joseph, Charlesburg; four sisters, Sister Liobina, O.S.F., Milwaukee; Mrs. John Weier, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Leo Meyers and Mrs. Peter Meier, both of Charlesburg. One son, John, died during the World War after he had been wounded and gassed in 1918. He was a member of Holy Name society of Holy Rosary Catholic church, and the New Holstein branch of Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.

Funeral services for John Puetz were held Tuesday morning at the ERbe-Hoffman Funeral home followed by services at the Holy Rosary church, the Rev. Alf. Pritzl officiating.

Interment was in the Charles Catholic Cemetery.

The following acting as pallbearers: Leo Meyers jr., Zeno Meyers, John, Jacob and Anton Steiner and Richard Meier.
Relatives and friends from out of town who attended the services included Mrs. George Pethan; Otto Parmann; Mrsdames Peter Wingers, Frank Steiner, Matt Steiner and Clarence Bennin and her son Bobby, all of Chilton; Sister M. Liobina; Sister M. Adelrika; and Sister M Gudelia.
