She was born April 23, 1909 in Keosauqua to John and Lottie Miles Kreiss. She married Maurice Jemison May 28, 1926 in Mount Pleasant. He died February 17, 1983.
She had worked 20 years at the Continental Overall Factory in Oskaloosa, retiring in 1970.
She is survived by three sons, Larrie "Shorty" of Oskaloosa, Carl "Skip" of Sigourney and Marion "Punk" of St. Charles, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lottie Mae Bowen of Marshalltown and Lena DeHart of Wickenburg, Arizona; a brother, John Kreiss of Mount Pleasant, also a sister-in-law, Edith Kreiss, Keosauqua and brother-in-law, George Hobbs of Ottumwa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Retson "Jim"; two sisters; four brothers and a granddaughter.
The servies were held Monday, May 7, 1990 at the Keosauqua United Methodist Church, the Rev. Chrisa Ferguson officiating.
Burial was in Purdom Cemetery in Keosauqua.
The Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Home in Oskaloosa was in charge of arrangements.
