Chapel Rite Is Scheduled For Nurse
Funeral services for Miss Emily Schmitz, 80, of Mount Calvary, who died at 9:15 am Thursday at her home, will be held at Lisowe-Huss Funeral Home, St. Cloud, and St Lawrence Seminary Chapel, Mount Calvary Military graveside ntes will be conducted by the Alex M. Abler, American Legion Post at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Calvary

Emily was born Dec 6, 1888, at Mount Calvary, a daughter of Anton and Agnes Schmitz. Miss Schmitz attended area schools, St Joseph's Hospital of Nursing, Milwaukee, and was graduated from Marquette University.

She was a 50-year veteran of World War 1, serving with the Army Nursing Corps. She was a National Red Cross nurse. For the last 15 years she was employed at the Mount Calvary Clinic and worked for Dr. Joseph Mueller.

She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Mount Calvary, the Altar Society, and Jane Delano All-Nurses American Legion Post of Milwaukee.

Surviving are five sisters, Mrs. Ray [Lyda] Sippel and Mrs. Pauline [Max] Atkinson, both of Mount Calvary; Mrs. Henry [Alma] Feyen of New Holstein; Anna Marie Konen, widow of Pete, of Sheboygan; and Ida Wuest, widow of Henry, of Fond du Lac.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Military graveside rites were conducted by the Alex M. Abler American Legion Post at Holy Cross Cemetery. Joe Helz was bugler; Delmar Petrie and Lawrence Krause, color guard; and Anthony Holzmann, Elmer Berenz, Ralph Birschbach and Francis Schaefer, firing squad.
Pallbearers were Willard Athinson, Alex Bernard, William Gilbert and Anthony Schmitz.
