Current picture of couple celebrating their 50th anniversary with an open house. Mr. and Mrs. Milberger were married Jan. 23, 1908 at the defunct Ebenezer Methodist Church, southwest of Russell. The Rev. Otto Gneich officiated. Mrs. Milberger was the former Miss Mollie Rein. The couple has farmed southwst of here since their marriage. Both are in good health and he still is actively managing the farm.........list children, grandchildren and siblings.

Clippings................Jan.25, 1973.........65th Wedding Anniversary.......(about same as above). The former Amalia Rein and Henry B. Milberger were both born in Russia, and she came to Russell Pioneer Neighborhood from Bison. She came from Russia at the age of 7 yrs. As an infant of one year, Mr. Milberger came directly to this area and has lived south and west of Russell all his life. He was a farmer.

Amalia "Mollie" Milberger, daughter of George and Eva Elizabeth (Lass) Rein Sr. was born March 29, 1886, at Friedenfeldt, Russia. She passed away Jan. 13, at the Wilson Nursing Home. Her age was 99 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
She came to this country with her family in Aug. 1892 at the age of 7 years. Her family first settled in Bison, then moved to Russell in 1901. She received her education in the Rush and Russell Co. schools. She was baptized in infancy and later confirmed in the Ebenezer Methodist Church.
She married Henry Milberger Jan 23, 1908, at the Ebenezer Church in Russell County. They made their home on their farm in Grant Township and resided there until her husband died Oct. 30, 1976. To this union were born three children: Martha, Wesley, and Eva.
She and her family were active members of Ebenezer Methodist Church, and in 1930 they transferred their membership to Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors are: son, Wesley and wife Verda of Ellis, and a daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Eva) Michaelis, Russell; five grandchldren: Linda (Michaelis) Davis and husband Bob, of Lawrence; Patricia Michaelis of Topeka; Barbara Michaelis of Hays; Mary Milberger of Manhattan and Wesley D. Milberger of Ellis; one great-grandchild: Seven Michael Davis of Lawrence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; a daughter, Martha; three sisters: Eva Karst, Elizabeth Keil, and Katie Dumler; and three brothers: George, Henry, and Ben Rein.
