GEORGE REIN, JR., son of George and Eva (Lass) Rein, was born in Friedenfeldt, Russia on 16 December 1878. In 1892, he came with parents to settle on farm in Russell County, remained in farming until retiring to make his home in Russell in 1948. On the 24th of February, 1903, he was united in marriage in Russell County to Beatrice Keil with whom he shared the birth and guidance of nine children, Luella of the home; Leon, Bunkerhill; Elmer, Russell; Mrs. Hilda Michel, Downs, Ks.; Alvin, Mrs. Marie Ford and Mrs. Helen Lockyer, all of Russell; Mrs. Darlene Woodson of San Diego, CA. One son, Herman, died in WWII. He had been ill for the past four years and was receiving care in Ks. City, Mo. when death claimed his life, June 22, 1959. At time of his passing he was 80 years, 6 months and 6 days old.
Surviving him are his wife and children and 18 grandchildren, two brothers, Henry and Ben of Russell and one sister, Mrs. H. B. Milberger, also of Russell.
