Luella E. Rein, 94, longtime Russell resident, died Wednesday July 19, 2000, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Lucas. She was born April 12, 1906, at Russell to George Jr. nd Beatrice (Keil) Rein. Miss Rein never married, and, as the elder member of her family, she helped raise her siblings and was a caregiver for her parents in their later years. She was a homemaker and an at-home seamstress. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Survivors are one brother, Leon Rein of Longmont, Colorado, and three sisters, Marie Ford, Salina, Helen Lockyer, Junction City, and Darlene Woodson, San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Herman, Elmer and Alvin, and one sister, Hilda Michel.

Her funeral was Saturday, July 22, 2000 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Russell. The Rev. Earl Haggard officiated. Burial was in the Russell City Cemetery.
