H.J. Abler Dies At 54 In Hospital
Harold J. Abler, 54, of 277 McKinley St., died at 7:45 p.m. Monday at St. Agnes Hospital.
He was born Feb. 3, 1914, at Mt. Calvary, the son of Mathias and Anna Blewel (sic: Bleuel) Abler. He married Esther Detert on April 23, 1942.
Mr. Abler was a precision assembler at Giddings & Lewis Inc. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and its Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, one son, his mother, Mrs. Mathias Abler of the city; three brothers, Ralph of Milwaukee, Ambrose of St. Paul, Minn., and Lawrence of Selingsgrove, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Merten and Mrs. Edmund Wagner, both of the city, and Miss Genevieve Abler, Mt. Calvary.
He was preceded in death by his father, three brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. The Rev. Claude T. O'Brien will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The Rev. Claude T. O'Brien officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Martin Kraus, Jack Erickson, Perry ?, William Ward, Emil Abler and Eugene Thayer.
