BERNADINE CECILIA HADDICK
Bernadine Cecilia Haddick, age 91, of Edina, Missouri, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
She was born September 29, 1917, at Edina, Missouri, the daughter of John Henry and Elizabeth Zurborg Schlepphorst.
On July 17, 1958, she was united in marriage to John Haddick in Cappawhite County, Tipperary, Ireland.
Surviving is her husband, John of Edina, Missouri, one daughter, Mary Butler and husband, Virgil of Dallas, Texas, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Haddick was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Edward, Paul, John and Lawrence Schlepphorst and sisters, Mary Mayer, Florence, Ruth and Clara Schlepphorst.
Bernadine was raised in Edina, Missouri. She graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in Edina and from Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois.
Bernadine was employed with Irwin Paper Company in Quincy, Illinois, secretary and bookkeeper for Ray Beckett Implement, Tom Brown Attorney, and John Haddick Insurance, all in Edina, Missouri. She loved traveling, reading, flowers and crocheting. Bernadine was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2008, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, Missouri. Father Bill Kottenstette and Father Joseph Hoi officiated the services. Burial was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Edina.
Visitation was after 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2008 with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a prayer service being held at 7:30 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina.
