Rene E. Schwalbe, 66, of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died Wednesday at home.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. N. W. Kock will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Schwalbe was born April 30, 1902, in the Town of Eaton, son of the late
August and Josephine Kautzer Schwalbe. He married Viola Marquardt June 26, 1924
at Zachow, Wis., and the couple located in Manitowoc County. He was a machinist's
helper at Manitowoc Engineering Co. and a member of Machinists Local No. 516 and
the Sea Gulls.
Survivors include his wife, a son, Rene Jr., of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, a daughter,
Mrs. Walter (Patricia) Sievert, three brothers, Merle, Fred and Kermit, a sister,
Mrs. Walter Gottschalk, of Manitowoc and 10 grandchildren. A brother and a
grandson preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 until
9 p.m. Friday, until Saturday noon and then at the church until time of service.
