Born November 8, 1908, in Howard, South Dakota, he married Blanche Lembcke November 30, 1933, in Ramona, South Dakota. They moved to West Concord from Ramona in 1934 and farmed there until moving to Zumbrota in 1975. Mr. Meyer operated a service station in Zumbrota from 1965 until his retirement in 1975.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Jerome, West Concord; Lyle, Goodhue; Darrel, San Ramon, CA, and Michael, Zumbrota; three daughters, Lyla (Mrs. Norbert) Ira, Fort Atkinson, Iowa; Sandra (Mrs. Dennis) Grant, Chaska, MN; and Barbara (Mrs. Roger) Hinricks, Zumbrota; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, George of West Concord; and four sisters, Mrs. Margaret Van Den Hemel, West Concord; Mrs. Louise Pankert, Fort Worth, TX; Dorothy (Mrs. Frank) Bruns, Bloomington, MN; and Edith Barger, Chamberlain, SD. Two grandchildren and two brothers preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10am Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Zumbrota with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Burial will be in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Cemetery in West Concord. Friends may call 2-5pm and 7-9pm Thursday and until 9am Friday at Larson Funeral Home Zumbrota where there will be a prayer service at 8pm Thursday.
