Bernard M Meyer, 72, West Concord, retired Dodge County farmer and former Rochester resident, died Tuesday, March 27 at Fieldcrest Nursing Home, Hayfield.

Mr. Meyer was born April 6, 1906 in Howard, South Dakota, and married Irene Van den Hemel October 14, 1931 in Madison, South Dakota. They moved to Dodge County in 1932, farming in Ellington Township for 20 years until retiring in 1962. They then resided in Rochester until 1974, when they moved to West Concord.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Ezra (Louise) Erickson, Claremont; Mrs. James (Carol) Clough, Zumbro Falls; Mrs. Patricia Kubat and Mrs. Rosemary Smith, both of Dodge Center; eight sons, Eugene, Kasson; Richard, Claremont; Robert, Cokato, MN; Francis, New Windsor, IL; Earl, Chatfield; Edward and Raymond, both of Dodge Center; and John, Medford, MN; 44 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gregory, Zumbrota; and Louis and George of West Concord; and four sisters, Mrs. Marcel (Margaret) VanDenHemel, Dodge Center; Mrs. Harold (Louise) Paukert, Fort Worth, TX; Mrs. Frank (Dorothy) Bruns, Bloomington, MN; and Mrs. Orrion (Edith) Barger, Chamberland, SD. He was preceded in death by an infant son and grandson.

Funeral was at 1:30pm Thursday, March 29 at St. Vincent Catholic Church, West Concord, Rev. J. P. Fasnacht officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers: Jerome Meyer, Lyle Meyer, Thomas Meyer, Ronald Meyer, William Lambert, and Kenneth Kubat.
