J.R. Allen, Resident Here 21 Years, is Dead
James Roy Allen, 51, of 2419 West Twenty-seventh Street, a resident of Forth for 21 years and son of J.A. Allen of Keller, one of the pioneers of Tarrant County, died yesterday at his home after an extended illness.
Survivors besides his widow are nine sons, Rev. Leroy Allen, Rev. J.A. Allen, Rev. Earl Allen, Rev. Robert Allen, and Edward, George, Easnest, Floyd and Johnnie Allen, all of Fort Worth, and three sisters, Mrs. Etta Wims, Mrs. Willie Thornton and Miss Annie Allen, all of Lake Worth.
Funeral services will be held today at the Azle Avenue Baptist Church, with Rev. Melvin Livesay and Rev. Orbie Clem officiating.
Burial will be in the Allen Cemetery near Keller.
Survivor not in obit is: daughter, Mary Ellen Allen of Fort Worth.
