Mesquite - Lee R. Allen, 85, a retired furniture salesman, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, in Mesquite.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst, Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park.
Lee served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a Shriner at Hella Temple AAONMS in Garland and a Mason at Sam R. Hamilton Lodge #1031.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Mildred Allen.
Sivivors: Sons, James and John Allen of Mesquite; daughter Cynthia Claybrook of Carrollton; grandson, Jeremy D. Claybrook of Carrollton; brothers, Robert Allen of Fort Worth and John Allen of Granbury; and sister, Mary Glass of Paris.

Lee served in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He was active in the Baptist Church all his life. He served as Sunday School teacher, deacon and assiciate pastor. He was a lay pastor, who along with his brother James started a Baptist Church in the John T. White School, 1937-38
