Louis John Martin Brandt, 70, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday at Mennonite Hospital in Bloomington. He had been ill for several weeks.

He was born April 27, 1887 in Anchor Township, a son of Henry and Margretha Frahm Brandt. He married Maria A. Lanz of Sibley Jan. 14, 1915.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, William A., Union Grove, Wis; Leon, Colfax; three daughters, Mrs. Emalyn W. Thomas, Palatine; Mrs. Edna Hohnstreiter, 703 W. Olive Street, Bloomington; Mrs. Louis Wise, Dalton; three brothers, John, Galconda; August and Herman, Anchor; three sisters, Miss Elsie; Mrs. Amanda Swain, Rantoul; and Mrs Wilhelmena Parker, Danforth. There are 14 grandchildren.

His parents, a sister, three brothers and two sons preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the St. John's Lutheran Church south of Anchor, where he was a member, at 1 p.m. on Sunday with Rev. Alexander Youck, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
