August E. Brandt, 77, died at 2 a.m. Saturday Nov. 24, 1973 at the Gibson Community Hospital.

His funeral was held Monday morning at St. John's Lutheran Church near Anchor, with the Rev. Alexander Youck officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born April 13, 1896, in Anchor, the son of Henry and Wilbelmina Frahm. Brandt. He never married.

Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Swaim, Rantoul, and Mrs. Wilheimina Parker, Gibson City.

He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.

A veteran Of World War I and a retired farmer, he was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Anchor post of the American Legion. He was a resident of Anchor until moving to Gibson City in 1963.

Relatives of Mr. Brandt served as pallbearers.
