Doris Helen Koch, daughter of John Jacob and Amalia (Keil) Karst, was born January 31, 1930 in Russell County, KS. Her death occurred June 2, 1990 in the St. Anthony Hospital in Denver, CO at the age of 60 years, 4 months, and 1 day.
Doris lived her early life in the Milberger area, received her basic education in the local schools and on June 11, 1950 was united in marriage to Arthur R. Koch at the United Emanuel Lutheran Church, Milberger. This union was blessed with one son, Kurtis. They would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary June 11, 1990.
Her early Christian life was thru baptism and later confirmation at the United Emanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger where she was married. She was presently a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church at Denver.
For a number of years Doris worked for Dr.'s Raben and Glenn and at the Russell City Hospital in the X-ray Dept., later working in the office as clerk and technician for Dr.'s White, Schultz and Pettijohn. In August of 1975 they moved from Russell to Colorado and Doris continued to work in a doctor's office there for about 12 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Paul Karst. Survivors are her husband Arthur of the home in Arvada, CO; son Kurtis and his wife Debbie of Great Bend, KS; and two grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Albert Karst of Arvada, CO; and Herbert B. Karst of Newton, KS; also five sisters: Clara Eacret of Florence, AZ; Elma Morgenstern, Elsie Brack and Martha Brack all of Russell, KS and Esther Scheuerman of Milberger, KS, several other relatives and a host of friends.
