Charles H. Barr, 94, of Bradenton, died on Feb. 5, 2013.
Born in Browns Valley, Kentucky, he moved to Bradenton in 1963 from Rome, Georgia. A Veteran of the US Army Air Corps during World War II, he was a member of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, the DAV, the Sheriff's Mounted Posse, and was on the Board of Directors for Bayshore Village. Predeceased by daughter, Carla Price; brothers, Garrett, Roland, Robert, Martin, & Dennis; sisters, Martha, Ethel, Jenna Mae, Teresa, and Alma; Survived by wife of 64 years, Julia of Bradenton, FL; sons, Stephen C. (Peggy) of Scottsville, KY, Samuel A. (Dolores) of Bradenton, FL; daughters, Pamela A. (James) Murphy of Bradenton, FL, Elizabeth M. (Troy) Craig of Bradenton, FL; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday February 7, 2013 at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 26th Street Chapel, 5624 26th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207. Mass is at 10:00 AM Friday, February 8, 2013 at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church 833 Magellan Drive Sarasota, FL 34243.
