GEORGE R. ROWLAND BARR, 78, of Route 7, Owensboro, died Friday, May 7, 1982, at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. He was born in Daviess County and was a retired farmer, owner of Barr's Upholstery Shop and a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Coin Barr; two sons, James R. Barr of Milwaukee and Charles D. Barr of Owensboro; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Porreca of Lima, Ohio and Marjorie Barr of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles H. Barr of Bradenton, Fla.; and three sisters, Mrs. Urey (Ethel) Thompson of Philpot, Mrs. Jennie Mae Rhodes of Utica, and Mrs. Raymond (Theresa) Higdon of Owensboro. Haley-McGinnis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Sunday at the funeral home.
