Joseph G. Kisner, 89, Topeka, died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at a Topeka hospital. Mr. Kisner was a meat cutter and had worked for several local grocery stores, including Frank Martin Grocery, Morrell's Meat Co., Joe White Grocery and Pence Grocery.
He was born Feb. 21, 1910, in Topeka, the son of Casper and Catherine Stechman Kisner. Mr. Kisner was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 2608 and the Gage North Senior Bowlers League.
He married Rose A. Reb on June 15, 1932, in Topeka. She preceded him in death Oct. 16, 1991. A son, LeRoy J. Kisner, died April 26, 1989.
Survivors include a son, Joseph C. Kisner, Topeka; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Kisner will lie in state after 2 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Knights of Columbus Council No. 2608 rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., and a parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Topeka Convalescent Center, 515 S.W. Horne, Topeka, 66606.
