Peter Frank Kisner was born the 7th child of Casper and Catherine Kisner on
Jan. 17, 1908 in Topeka, Kan.
He died at the age of 53 on July 24, 1961 in Oelwein.
He came to Oelwein in 1925 to work for the Chicago Great Western Railway as
a carman tice and remained in employment until his death.
On May 20, 1927 he married Mabel Hensch of Oelwein. They had eight children, four boys and four girls.
Survivors include his widow Mabel; sons, Lawrence of Saginaw, Mich., Floyd
of Rockford, Ill, John and Dale of Oelwein; daughters, Mrs. Regina Bergman
of Maynard, Mrs. Dorothy Lehmkuhl of Oelwein, Mrs. Beverly of Cedar Rapids,
and Shirley of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren, his mother Mrs. Catherine of
Topeka, Kan.; brothers, Joseph and George of Topeka, Kan., Mathew of
Oelwein, and sisters Mrs. Anna Bellendier of Oelwein, Mrs. Marie Miller,
Mrs. Catherine Sommers and Mrs. Mary, all of Topeka, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Casper.
Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church July 27, 1901 at 9 am by
Father Fidelis Kaufman. Burial was at Woodlawn cemetery.
