Funeral service with requiem High Mass, was held at St. Frances Catholic Church, Claremont, at 9:30 last Friday morning, Father Sullivan officiating with assistance of choir of St. Vincent Parish, West Concord.

Mr. Meyer died instantly in an automobile accident near Mankato, Monday evening, April 21. He would have been 72 years of age Sunday following his death.

He was born April 27, 1880, in Iowa, but spent the greater part of his life in South Dakota. He resided on a farm in the West Concord vicinity since 1934. He married Anna (Schmit) Meyer in 1905 who preceded him in death less than six weeks ago.

Mr. Meyer is survived by eight children: four sons, Bernard, Gregory, Louis (Bud) and George, all of West Concord, and four daughters, (Margaret), Mrs. Marcel Van Den Hemel, Dodge Center; (Louise) Mrs. Harold Paukert, Minneapolis; (Dorothy) Mrs. Ben Petzel, Schuyler, Nebraska; and (Edith) Mrs. Orrion Barger, Chamberlain, South Dakota; all of whom with their families attended the funeral. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren.

Others attending the funeral from away were sister, Mrs. Kate Schmit and nephew, Mr. William Schmit, both of Howard, South Dakota, two nieces, Mrs. John Sullivan, Winfred, South Dakota; and Mrs. Louis Roos, Tulare, South Dakota; and sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Hieberger, Earlville, Iowa; also many friends of neighboring communities attended the funeral. His six oldest grandsons acted as pallbearers. They were Eugene, Richard, and Robert Meyer, George and Leo VanDenHemel and Jerome Meyer. Interment was at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Owatonna, with arrangements in charge of mortician C. J. Ferguson, West Concord.
